Explore the Red Canyon in Utah!
For the drive from Zion National Park to Bryce Canyon National Park, we chose the scenic route. Scenic Byway 12 gives you a first impression of what road tripping through Utah is all about: Magnificent wilderness, open, wide roads, and a good mixture between snowcapped mountain peaks and red desert landscapes. shortly before you reach your final destination you will be driving through red Canyon, a small section that is worth a stop especially for hiking and enjoying magnificent sunsets. To us, it felt like we were hiking through a miniature version of Utah as we were passing through mini Hoodoos, small pine trees, slippery icy sections, and red rock terrain. Especially during the winter months, when access to the trails of Bryce Canyon National Park is limited, you should consider stopping for a hike here as well.
